Rally planned for Sunday in Istanbul by Barış Bloku, the Peace Block, has been banned by the Istanbul Governorate.
The statement of the Istanbul Governorate said that “recent terrorist actions in our country could lead to provocative actions” and that the request for permission for a rally was not “deemed suitable to protect the security of our people, and preventing the difficulties that will be caused by the prevention of dense traffic in the area”.
The Peace Block made a call for Sunday 4 pm for a mass rally from Taksim Tepebaşı to Aksaray.
