An agreement has been reached between Iran and six world powers at the nuclear talks held in Vienna, Austria.
Talks between Iran and the so-called P5+1 – USA, China, Russia, England and France, the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council, and Germany had continued for 17 days.
The Reuters news agency announced that sides had agreed on restrictions on Iran’s nuclear program in return of the gradual lifting of economic sanctions. An Iranian diplomat speaking to Reuters said, “Intense work on both sides led to the agreement”.
According to the deal, sanctions will be lifted gradually, and the arms embargo in Iran will remain in place for another five years, and an embargo on missiles for eight years.
