Journalist Frederike Geerdink, who was accused of “propaganda for a terrorist organization” has been acquitted in the second hearing of the case.
Detained on January 6 at her home in Diyarbakır on charges of “propaganda for a terrorist organization” and tried with 5 years imprisonment, Geerdink faced the judge for the second time today.
The Prosecutor had asked for Geerdink’s acquittal at the first hearing last week, however, since the primary judge of the case was not present, the verdict was delayed until today.
In the judgment hearing today at the Diyarbakır 6th High Criminal Court, the court followed the prosecutor’s consideration and ruled for Geerdink’s acquittal.
