Two new emergency decrees are published in the Official Journal of Turkey.
With the recent emergency
decrees, 375 associations and 9 media outlets have been shut down and
15,726 civil servants have been sacked. The shut-down institutions
and sacked personnel are claimed to be engaged in activities aiming
to damage the national security of the state or cooperate with
terrorist organizations.
Among the sacked personnel, there are 242 academics.
175 associations, 18 foundations and 1 healthcare center that were shut down upon the law passed on October 18 will be reopened with the recent decree.
Also, 157 civil servants who had been sacked are restored.
