It can be said that
the most tactless strategy of socialism was its fight against
religion and religious institutions. When the socialism came to power
by overthrowing the tsarist regime in Russia, clergymen across a vast
region from Caucasus to Central Asia became targets of the new
regime.

The saying “things will develop in the opposite direction when they become extreme” confirmed once again in Poland: dockworkers in Gdansk went on strike and staged a protesting march. Protesters were carrying the posters of Pope Jean Paul II, who is also Polish, and Virgin Mary.
In Turkey, we have been experiencing Marx' famous statement “Religion is the opium of the people” in a very bitter way. The government consolidates its power by using the religious soft spots of the masses. People support Erdoğan and the government under his total control, because they think that he is just pro-Islam. After imposing this idea, people stopped caring about the facts that the balance of the state apparatus is completely upset, that a part of the country is destroyed by the arms, soldiers and police forces of the state itself and that the state started to play dangerous games of war beyond the borders.
It is the same in Europe, Turkey and in any place in the world. While the masses are amused by the discourses they bought, the global capitalists continue to realize their strategies flawlessly.
After the incident in Fukushima nuclear power plant, Germany decided to shut down 23 nuclear power plants in their country in accordance with a plan. Meanwhile, Turkey is getting ready for the tenders that will be made for 3 nuclear power plants in Akkuyu, İğneada and Sinop. Nobody should try to convince us that those gigantic power plants will be built for meeting Turkey's need for energy.
The ones who are corrupted by the opium are talking about bringing the death penalty back and establishing the principles of Sharia law, instead of the policies that make our lands infertile, destroy animal farming and dry our water sources up.
