The renovation work in Surp Asdvadzadzin Church, which had been used as sports facility for about 40 years, is started. The church will serve as a library.
Surp Asdvadzadzin Church is being renovated by Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality and will be used as a “City Library” open for 24 hours. The library will have 50,000 books. The renovation work is planned to be completed in 2017 autumn.
Protestants made an application concerning the church which had been used as sports facility for about 40 years. Protestants in Kayseri demanded the church is assigned to them, since they have no place of worship in Kayseri. Istanbul Protestant Church Foundation made an application to Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality. However, after the discussion, the application was refused.
