Some Chief Prosecutor Offices in Istanbul started investigations against the members of "Academics for Peace" under article 301 of Turkish Penal Code.

Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and
Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's
Office started investigation against the members of "Academics for
Peace" on their own motion.
The investigations will be carried under Article 301 of Turkish Penal Code ("The person who publicly insults Turkish People, Republic of Turkey or Turkish Grand National Assembly, Government of Republic of Turkey and the judicial bodies of state is inflicted imprisonment for six months to two years") and under Article 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Law (TMK) related to "propaganda for a terrorist organization".
