HDP prepared a report about Silvan and Nusaybin. According to the report, in the last 6 months, there have been 117 days of curfews and 147 people were killed since June 7.
HDP prepared a report about Silvan and Nusaybin which came to fore with clashes and curfews. In the report, there are comments on loss of lives and the attacks of the security forces.
Here are the highlights of the report:
- Since June, in the course of 6 months, there have been 117 days of curfews in Kurdistan.
- Because of the war that was started by AKP and its forces, 147 people were killed since June 7.
- State’s security forces and some dark forces like “Esedullah Team” that act in concert with them attacked people who protested the curfews in a democratic way. These forces acted like as if there is a total war and injured and killed people.
Silvan
An examination is held about the events in Silvan between November 3 and 14.
- In Silvan, the governorship declared a curfew on November 3 and it was lifted on November 14. In the course the curfew, 9 Kurdish citizens were killed and a lot of people were injured, 10 of them being grave.
- During the curfew, fundamental rights and freedoms of people in Silvan were completely violated.
- In the neighborhoods in the scope of the curfew, the right to education of over 5000 children was violated. And in the other neighborhoods, it was observed that people didn’t let their children to go to school because they thought that there is no security of life.
- It is reported that, in 5 months, over 20000 people in Mescit, Tekel and Konak neighborhoods were subjected to forced displacement.
- In Silvan, many rights and freedoms like right to life, freedom of expression and fair trial were suspended for 12 days.
- It is claimed that something called “Esedullah Team” is established which resembles JİTEM and people are very concerned about this claim.
- Legal procedures should be immediately started concerning the people who were killed or injured. The perpetrators should be found and tried.
- The government should make an explanation about this so-called “Esedullah Team”; the members of that team should be identified.
Nusaybin
- During the curfew that lasted for 14 days, 9 civilians were killed. Tens of people were injured. Nusaybin is virtually in ruins now. Houses are inhabitable.
- Many people developed physical and psychological disorders.
- Bragging about ending the state of emergency, AKP put a war concept in action that is way worse than the state of emergency.
