According to the Mayor of Fatih Municipality, expropriations will be conducted for the landscape plan of the Patriarchate and Surp Hovannes Church in Narlıkapı.
On October 18, Surp Hovannes Church in Narlıkapı celebrated its name day on the 267th anniversary of its foundation. Archbishop Aram Atesian, in his preaching, made a call for unity emphasizing that continuous controversies and tension would lead to the fall of a society. Mayor of Fatih Municipality was also present at this gathering and made important announcements.
80% of the area is expropriated
Announcing that 80% of the expropriation process is done in three years, Demir stated that expropriation work will continue after the election on November 1. He also added that this project will transform the appearance of the district and they think that there will be more hotels and hostels in the neighborhood.
Surp Hovannes Church in Narlıkapı
Demir stated that there will be new arrangements around Surp Hovannes Church in Narlıkapı. Recently, people started to come to the areas near the church to consume alcohol and drugs and this causes disturbance in the neighborhood. Demir said that the areas in possession of the church will be protected with wires as soon as possible.
