The Protestant Churches Foundation stated that they are threatened to be murdered and massacred and called the authorities for duty.
The Protestant Churches Foundation made a written statement. The Foundation stated that though this kind of threats never stops, they recently increased and said: “Lately, the churches in the different regions of Turkey systematically receive threat messages via various channels; they are similar and probably coming from the same source.”
In the statement, it is pointed out that the threat letters exhibit the style and jargon that is used by ISIS and the word “tağut” (idolater) is also used, which is a term that ISIS employs to refer to everyone who is not an ISIS member.
The Foundation also stated: “The threats that Protestant Community, who lives and want to raise their children in Turkey, receive is not something new, but these threats systematically increased in the recent period. We think that these threat messages come from a single source, since they are similar in style and tone and they emerge all over the country simultaneously.”
The Foundation asked everyone to be sensitive regarding this issue.
