Tigran Hamasyan arrives at Ani and Aghtamar
“Improvisation is my task. I have played jazz since I was little, but I compose as well. Composing is the exact opposite of improvisation. It is important to find something different every time. There is no effort involved in the philosophy of improvisation; it is necessary to let the melody flow wherever the music goes. People who have studied Classical Western Music all their lives, people you could describe as geniuses of philosophy cannot improvise. Improvisation is a matter of approach, of mentality.”
