Dink case postponed to October 10, Dinç to present defence

Dink murder case is postponed to October 10. In the next hearing, Engin Dinç, Chief of Security General Directorate Intelligence Branch, will present his defence.

In the recent hearing of the Dink case, Hamdi Egbatan, an officer from department of intelligence, presented his defence. His cross examination is also completed.

In the indictment, it is claimed that Egbatan was working in Bureau C5, which was formed by Ali Fuat Yılmazer and had been receiving all the intelligence reports concerning Dink murder. It is also claimed that the bureau hadn't conducted an operation, despite the information about the plans of murder.

Egbatan presented a written defence to the court. He denied the statement that he gave to the prosecutor's office, since he wasn't informed that he was being heard as a suspect. He also stated that he wasn't working in C5 before or during the murder and the bureau was legal anyway.

The hearing was planned to continue today. However, upon the request of the lawyers, it is postponed to October 10, 11, 13, 14. The court also refused Ramazan Akyürek's demand for release.

In the next hearing, Engin Dinç, Chief of Security General Directorate Intelligence Branch; Faruk Sarı, who was the chief of Trabzon Intelligence Branch at the time of murder; police officer Hasan Durmuşoğlu and Ahmet İlhan Güler will present heir defences.
