Speaking on behalf of the opposition parties, some MPs demanded postponement. AKP voted for continuing the meeting. However, HDP MPs left the committee because of unrelieved tension.
The committee continued working and the proposal concerning parliamentary immunity was accepted with the votes of AKP, MHP and CHP members.
After the amendment is approved by the General Assembly, the files of 129 MPs will be sent to related prosecution offices. The MPs will be questioned, brought to court and they might be tried pending trial or jailed pending trial.
