Paris Unveils Memorial for Women Victims of the Genocide

On March 8, International Women’s Day, a monument in memory of the women victims of the Genocide was unveiled in Yerevan Park in Paris.

Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo, Ambassador of Armenia to France Vigen Chitechian, politicians and renowned names from the world of culture and arts were among those participating in the unveiling ceremony of the monument, which was held on March 8, International Working Women’s Day.

A hundred roses were planted in the park after the ceremony in commemoration of the women victims of the Genocide.

The Armenian Blue Cross of France (ARS) led the organization for the preparation of the monument that was erected near to the Statue of Komitas located in the same park. The memorial features an inscription, which reads “In commemoration of the women victims of the Armenian Genocide; those who perished without a trace, as well as those who survived and passed on their memories.”
