Dink case started. Suspect Engin Dinç, who is the current chief of General Directorate of Security Intelligence Department, is present at the hearing for the first time. Dinç will present his defence today.
The hearings will last 4 days and Engin Dinç, the
current chief of the General Directorate of Security Intelligence
Department and Faruk Sarı, who was the chief of Trabzon Security
Directorate Intelligence Department at the time of murder, will
present their defences.
Arrested suspects Ramazan Akyürek, Ali Fuat Yılmazer ve tutuksuz sanıklar Celalettin Cerrah, Reşat Altay, Ercan Demir, Ahmet İlhan Güler, Sabri Uzun, Mehmet Ayhan, Faruk Sarı, Onur Karakaya, Özkan Mumcu and Muhittin Zenit are present at the hearing.
Tamer Bülent Demirel, Osman Gülbel, Ali Poyraz, Ogün Samast, Yasin Hayal, Şükrü Yıldız and Mehmet Ali Özkılınç are attending the hearing through video call.
Erhan Tuncel, who is not under arrest, is also present.
Dink family's lawyers Hakan Bakırcıoğlu, İnci İşbulur, Emel Ataktürk Sevimli and defence lawyers are also present.
Suspect Engin Dinç, who is the current chief of General Directorate of Security Intelligence Department, will present his defence in this round of hearings. Before the hearing started, security forces took security measures in the courthouse and the hearing room. The police carried out body search in the entrance.
